PATTERN DESIGN LICENSING FAQ’S
WHAT IS ART LICENSING?
Art licensing is a rental agreement that allows you to use my artwork on your own products.

As a licensee, you pay a fee to the licensor (the artist) to use the artwork in accordance with the terms we have mutually agreed on.
WHAT IS A NON-EXCLUSIVE LICENCE?
A non-exclusive license allows you to choose one of my existing designs to use on your own products. You can work with your preferred printer and sell the final goods in one product category—for example, clothing, home decor, wallpaper, stationery…
Because it’s non-exclusive, the same design may be licensed to other brands at the same time. It will also remain available on my shops like Spoonflower, Apoz, or any of my other retailers, where other people can purchase it printed on fabric, wallpaper, and more.
WHAT IS AN EXCLUSIVE LICENSE?
An exclusive license gives you the right to use one of my designs in a specific product category, with no other companies allowed to use that same design in that category during the licensing period.
Before any work begins, we’ll agree on the terms of use—including the product category, duration, and territory. For example, if you exclusively license a design for kids clothes, I may still license that same design for other uses, such as wallpaper or home decor, unless otherwise agreed.
At the end of the licensing term, you’ll have the first opportunity to renew the license. If you choose not to renew, the rights to the design return to me.
HOW MUCH DOES A LICENSE COST?
Pricing is bespoke — I take many things into consideration when I am pricing for your project: length of contract, product categories, complexity of artwork…

ARE YOUR DESIGNS SEAMLESS REPEATS?
Yes, all my pattern designs repeat seamlessly on all four sides, so they can be printed continuously.
WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR PORFOLIO?
While I don’t have a formal portfolio at the moment, you can explore my online shops to get a good sense of the designs I create. Most of the patterns you’ll find there are available for non-exclusive licensing.
Browsing my shops is also a great way to see my style and the kind of work I can create for exclusive collaborations. If you’re interested in working together, feel free to fill out my licensing enquiry form—I’d love to hear about your project!
WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT TO THE DESIGNS?
As the designer, I always keep the copyright and ownership of my artwork, including any variations. But if you’re interested in a full buy-out, just let me know—I’m happy to chat about options and pricing.”
